I was born in Pisa on 19th June 1969. I got my master degree in Physics in
1995 at the University of Pisa with a
thesis work on two research projects for galactic and extragalactic supernovae
search in the near infrared. In 1996 I got a one year fellowship to work in Teramo Astronomical
Observatory where I worked on astronomical image acquisition and analysis,
technological and characterization aspects and of instrumentation, project and
construction of an infrared telescope
and related hardware and software. From 1997 to 2003 I worked at
Dept. of Mathematics and Computer
Science
of the Udine University, on the EC project Holomar (High
resolution in situ HOLOgraphic recording and analysis of MARine organisms and
particles), on contracts with CEOM, Tecnomare and SNAM Progetti on autonomous
underwater vehicle by image analysis by neural networks. In addition,
I worked on innovative feature extraction, visual attention and
neural networks models and I got a Ph. D. degree in Computer Science.
From May 2003, I'm a research associate at the
Seismological Research
